Narita Airport, Tokyo: Just 23 years ago, I was cradling my newborn son in my arms and marveling that this child wasn't exactly like his sister at birth--no hair, placid. Instead I held a hairy beast who squirmed. It's no wonder, I suppose, that we are enroute to watch him swim on a flight made shorter by a 500-page book Hillary gave me to read.
