Training in Wisconsin

I am currently back in Wisconsin for Thanksgiving break. I am continuing my training at both a YMCA near my house as well as a club team in the area. It's always fun to go swim with different swimmers and coaches to see how things differ from where I swim in Texas. I trained pretty hard tonight both in the pool and the weight-room. Although the level of training is not quite as difficult as it is in Texas...I am pushing myself to do the best I can.

One thing Eddie told me to do if it is difficult to get a lot of good work in, is to kick some of their swimming sets. My big weapon is my kick so it's essential I continue to work hard to make it better and better.

This morning I woke up and it seemed a bit brighter in my room than the morning before. I immediately thought to myself, "SNOW!" I yanked the cord to my blinds and there was about five inches of fluffy snow all over the place. The trees were all covered too. It's a good thing my Dad and I put up all our holiday lights yesterday. It continued to snow throughout the day. I absolutely love snow and am super happy to see the white gold:)

Snow? I shudder for you. Not my favorite stuff but glad to hear you are enjoying it. It's nice to get out of our regular enviroments and see things in a new light. I sometimes find it brings a new appreation and refreshment to the daily coures. Oh and i would like to add if you have the chance to cheat a little Blue Moon ice cream (orange and pineapple)is heaven try it if you can.

So was your grandma totally surprised when you showed up for dinner with your sister?

No snow in NJ yet. Last year we had maybe 6 inches the entire winter. Have a great Thanksgiving. You sure do have lots to be thankful for.

How many days until 2012 Olympics??!!

It's easy to love (and miss) the snow when you live in a warm climate! I'm just hoping WI doesn't get quite the excessive amount we did last year :)

Awww! My Grandma means the world to me too. My grandma is the only one I have now because Grandpa passed awhile ago and it's still hard to take in.

So I was just reading an article in the Detroit Free Press....(While waiting for my flight at LAX early this morning) that you will be one of four Grand Marshals at the Detroit Thanksgiving Parade. So have fun and I hope you will have photos of the event to share...also have a great and safe holiday!!!

Yeah, Garrett will be in the Thanksgiving parade in Detroit. The promise is that they will whisk him to the airport and have him back in MKE for turkey dinner. We're counting on it!

This is not along the topic line, but I was at a meeting yesterday on board a 100 ft. luxury yacht, multi-level, high class all the way. Beautiful. I thought of you! I hope you are enjoying your family and friends and celebrating and reflecting on an incredible year for you.

Today I successfully made pumpkin goop for a pumpkin pie from a fresh pumpkin a friend gave me. I am thinking of making something a little healthier than pie such as vegan muffins or something. It took a while but seeing the finished project made me feel very happy! I don't suggest doing this unless you have a lot of extra time to spend cutting and boiling pumpkin.

Oh yes Christmas is the best time. That's just me. So what snowboard you use? Do you freestyle or what???

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone 2!!!

Hey Nicole: Garrett's sister and I made a sweet potato pie last night from fresh sweet potatoes. Definitely better than canned. And baked taste a little different than microwaved.

Garrett said...

I would love to get a recipe from you for some healthy pumpkin muffins!

I ride a Burton. I freestyle ride mostly...

Happy turkey day everyone:)
