Since I returned to the water two weeks ago I remembered something I had forgotten since last fall, how hard it is to get back in shape... Training these past two weeks has been tough. I feel like every year I get older, it is harder to get back in shape. Although this is a bit discouraging, it makes me feel that much better when I finally become fit again!
I'm really looking forward to this upcoming season. I'm confident I can become stronger and more fit than I have been in the past. Ed always tells us that the beautiful thing about the sport of swimming is that generally if you work harder and prepare more thoroughly than your competitors you can put yourself in a good position to beat them. I see this upcoming season as just another challenge to take on. We shall see how it plays out in July...I'm so excited!!!

So since you're not in school anymore, what keeps you busy when you're not in the pool? I'm sure you spend quite alot of time in the pool, weightroom, dry land work, etc...AND THE KITCHEN! : ) But what else do you do? Special appearances? What fills your day these days?
I am completely sympathetic to just how tough it is to get back into shape... It's 6:00am and I am just dragging myself to the gym! :-)
My life in Texas is very busy. I have been consistently working on my new website that will be coming out soon, as well as this blog. Let's not forget my goal of starting my own health-food business...
Today I did a morning radio show and a tv spot in the afternoon.
It is tough getting back in shape. I just try and tell myself every little thing I do gets me closer to my destination!
I found it is kinda hard to get back into shape as you get older. Funny how you do a full set of cardio 5 days a week, stop for like 2 weeks, then almost die when you try cardio again!
